Welcome to Bakelove!

When she was little, her parents often worried about her compulsive obsession with the kitchen, for Malika Khanna baked when she was happy, baked when she was sad, baked when she was stressed, baked when she celebrated, baked for others, baked for herself and baked and baked and baked! She was practically baking her life away!
On the insistence of her parents, she secured a ‘safe’ Bachelors degree in Economics. But her heart was in the kitchen. So, she enrolled herself at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), to hone her cooking and baking skills. As a part of her course, she took up an externship in New York city, at the Michelin star restaurant, Junoon, where she worked the hot line.
During her 2 years at culinary school, she spent her days-off eating her way through the streets of Manhattan, treating herself to rich, sweet decadent classic American desserts that she craved all her life.
After graduating from the CIA, she secured a job at the trendy Momofuku Milk Bar, New York City, owned by celebrity chefs David Chang and Christina Tossi. At Milk Bar, she made 500 pounds of cookie dough, gallons of frosting and frosted dozens of cakes everyday. This was baking haven! She was finally doing what she loved! Not only did she hone her skills, but she also made lifetime friends, who were as obsessed with baking as she was. Bakelove is the culmination of her extreme baking addiction. Bakelove specialises in simplified, fuss-free, delicious, moist and rich American desserts, that include a range of handmade baked goods, cakes, puddings, cupcakes, cookies and fresh-from-the-oven muffins.
